By 2015, the capacity of urban domestic waste incineration treatment facilities across the country will account for over 35% of the total harmless treatment capacity, with over 48% in the eastern region. At present, there are over 1,600 county-level towns in our country. According to the national plan and deployment, all of them will gradually carry out harmless treatment of garbage, and the development potential is considerable. According to the 12th Five-Year Plan, the total investment in environmental protection exceeds 3.4 trillion yuan, among which the total investment in solid waste exceeds 800 billion yuan, and the investment in garbage disposal facilities among the solid waste investment exceeds 263.6 billion yuan.

In recent years, the capacity for domestic waste treatment in our country has been significantly enhanced. In 2013, the volume of municipal solid waste collected and transported across the country was 173 million tons, the harmless treatment capacity was 493,000 tons per day, the harmless treatment volume was 154 million tons, and the harmless treatment rate was 89.0%.
